Suzy is Head of Informatics Research & Commercial Development at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.  She has over 25 years’ experience of working in both public and private sector healthcare roles, including 10 years as a Director of Operations. This has enabled her to gain a broad understanding of the healthcare environment.

Her specialist areas include statistical analysis of health service activity, clinical audit, data modelling and simulations, the design and use of complex databases, business, marketing and communication skills.

Her main role as Technical Director for PIONEER is to ensure the successful creation and delivery of the analytical platform and the acute care datasets.  She leads on the technological strategy in conjunction with the development team, including the establishment of standard procedures to monitor progress and quality assurance.  Suzy is always looking for innovative uses of technology and data for PIONEER to ensure the products and services offered are both industry standard and cutting edge.

Suzy is also the Deputy Director of PIONEER, working closely with Liz Sapey to ensure the delivery of this cross-sector, collaborative programme and that health data insights are translated quickly into benefits for patients.
